In Millville since 1934, Mints Insurance Agency is a regional company offering a full line of property, business and personal insurance.

“Our big advantage, from a business point of view, is that we deal with multiple carriers. We’re not tied to one particular brand,” says owner Bob Conner. “That gives our clients lots of options. We can shop around for the best coverage at the best prices,” he says.

But Bob says his people are his firm’s true power. “We don’t pretend to know everything, but we work hard to figure it out. We have access to the biggest and best insurance carriers, but at heart we’re still a family business that values trust and credibility. I think that’s why our reputation has endured the decades,” Bob says.

Many of the employees have been with Mints over five years and some for nearly 20. Bob’s very proud of that longevity. “You know, if you treat your people well, they share that attitude with your customers. We have a terrific culture and that comes from our employees,” he says.

Bob says he got into the insurance business by accident. “I majored in sociology at Wake Forest. But my dad started working at Mints in the mid-50s and my sons Rob and Jay are here now. Turns out, my grandfather was an insurance agent, too. So maybe it runs in the family,” he says.
